The Store

In 2015, WHISKY FOR LIFE opened on Fahrgasse, part of Frankfurt’s shopping district known as the “Gallerien,” not far from the Cathedral, the Römer, the New Old Town, and the Main River. The store is the heart of the company. It serves as the hub for product presentation, consultation, and sales.

Owner Frank Jerger and his team typically open the shop’s doors from Wednesday through Saturday. Mondays and Tuesdays are reserved for administrative tasks such as inventory management, preparing shipments for the online business, and planning and organizing tastings and trade shows.

Thanks to its selection and location in Frankfurt, WHISKY FOR LIFE was able to quickly gain a foothold and has firmly established itself over the years within the community of whiskey lovers—even far beyond the local area. The multi-award-winning shop impresses with its selection, expertise, and high-caliber whisky connections and partnerships, as well as with personalized advice and a diverse range of entertaining tastings. For regular customers and many Asian visitors alike, it has become an indispensable part of Frankfurt.

Architectural Concept

The store's design provides a home—tailored to Frankfurt's style—for the theme, origins, and essence of single malt whiskey.

Interior designer Thomas Wenzel developed a concept that contrasts the large storefront with a cozy, dark interior. A well-organized, simple yet elegant wooden shelving structure allows for accent lighting, which highlights the visual appeal of the warm-colored spirits in their glass bottles and showcases the merchandise in an attractive way.

Tables made of untreated wood, along with furniture pieces and old whiskey barrels repurposed as shelves, emphasize the products’ natural, rustic character and highlight their origins. Simple, dark chairs complement the anthracite-colored, high-gloss polished mastic asphalt floor, the existence of which was only discovered after renovation work had begun—a stroke of luck from a design perspective.

Back in 2019, just four years after its founding, WHISKY FOR LIFE was named “Germany’s Best Whisky Shop” at the opening of the 21st InterWhisky trade fair. This makes us proud and reinforces our belief that we’re already doing quite a few things well and right when it comes to whisky. Since this title can only be won once, we see it for what it is: a great honor that lasts forever and motivates us every day to do things better—even if it takes a little longer sometimes...

Member of Laddie Crew Germany

Laddie Crew Germany was founded in 2017, and WHISKY FOR LIFE has been part of this crew since its very first year. It currently consists of nine outstanding Bruichladdich specialty retailers who hold the exclusive license to sell the exclusive Laddie Crew bottlings from Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte, and Octomore—exclusively in-store, not online. The crew’s goal is to strengthen the specialty retail sector and foster personal connections among whisky enthusiasts.
